When we designed our CANVALODGE luxury canvas lodge, we combined 21 years of experience in the textile industry with intensive market research to establish the exact needs of the user. We incorporated all in a beautiful, yet practical canvas lodge. Choosing the most appropriate raw materials, is in itself only half a solution if not combined with an excellent design. Design and size
The basic concept and shape of our CANVALODGE were first developed in Africa.
CANVALODGE'S sizes and dimensions were in fact fundamentally influenced by customers, so it really were created by customers for customers. You can't be more customer led and practical than that!
CANVALODGE'S high side walls (between 1,8 and 2 meters) allow free movement from side to side.
CANVALODGE'S width (up to four meters) allows many furniture arrangement possibilities, and contributes to it's spacious feel.
CANVALODGE'S ten large windows, air vents in the inner roof, fly sheet and maximum door size allow maximum positive air flow.
CANVALODGE'S way of construction, tailoring methods and anchoring were developed and proven to withstand the worst weather conditions. All door zips are attached with Valcro for easy replacement in case of damage.

Our CANVALODGE safari tents are covered with a 500gsm innovative and versatile 90% water resistant shade net. A state of the art fly sheet using a coating system, and not a laminating system, thus the water resistant layer cannot de-laminate.
Our fly sheets are designed for protection against all weather elements and have proved to be very successful. Our fly sheets will not rot or support the development of mould and mildew. It offers the ultimate combination of high strength, controlled elongation, maximum shade, dimensional stability, maximum protection against harmful U.V. rays, fire retardancy and exceptional resistance to U.V. degradation. You have an option of 500 - 600 gsm Flysheets with shade canvas tops.
We have combined the normally used PVC and shade cloth fly sheet into one state of the art fly sheet with build in air vents, to lower the temperature inside the tent. This innovative idea have proved to be very successful.

The lay out of our CANVALODGES can be altered to personal needs.

CANVALODGES can be erected just for accommodation if there are communal ablution facilities. Private bathrooms and/or kitchens can be added at any stage.

The CANVALODGE is designed in such a way that the inner part of the tent can be moved back and forward to vary the length of the verandah. This leaves the alternative to construct a bathroom at the back. Material for this construction could be bricks, stones, reeds timber or any other material available from the local surroundings.

CANVALODGES can fit three double bunker beds on either side in the length, thus providing sleeping space for 12 people.

Municipal authorities regard CANVALODGES as non-permanent structures, and therefore no building plans are required.

CANVALODGES are available in Howard green, Olive green, Sand or two tone sand / green.

All zips used are No.10 heavy duty YKK zips.

Frame work are 32 X 1,6 colour coded epoxy coated mild steel tubing for strength.

Corner pieces are 32 x 1,6 welded units with our patented STRONG STUFF reinforcing for extra strength, and allows the inner tent to be kept in perfect position with our unique spring loaded system.

CANVALODGES are anchored with our patented SOLID ANCHOR system to ensure maximum strength and durability.

All windows have mosquito proofing and adjustable arched storm flaps which can be adjusted from the inside of the tent with No. 10 heavy duty zips. Eyelits are fitted to allow own tailor made inner curtains.

A well designed ventilation system creates a comfortable temperature inside the CANVALODGE , regardless of the climate and temperatures outside.

The dimensions of the canvalodge were not determined by material dimensions, but by the actual sizes needed to create space.

Only the best quality materials are used for the manufacturing of a CANVALODGE.

Canvalodge comes standard with 4 plugged holes for electrical wires, providing easy access for the purpose of electrical appliances and antennas.

The PVC used for the manufacturing of our CANVALODGE is not the standard 550GSM, but an extra heavy duty 700GSM PVC that ensures ultimate strength and durability.

Each canvalodge is manufactured with precision craftsmanship. Every unit is tailored with the greatest care, and must pass 17 quality control points of inspection.

Please keep in mind that a limited quantity canvalodges are manufactured per month. Make sure that you secure your canvalodge in order to meet your own deadlines.
The cement or wooden platforms are for your own account. Part of our value added services include the suggested floor plans for the platforms, as well as assistance in the layout of your camp.
Canvalodge can provide you with the contact details of approved contractors who will be able to assist you with the construction of the required platforms for your canvalodges.
Clear installation instructions are provided with the canvalodge for the D.I.Y enthusiasts.
We are responsible for the proper erection of your canvalodge, therefore communication and accurate planning are of utmost importance.
